Celina E Rodriguez

Celina E. Rodriguez, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 13, 2019.  Her viewing will be held Monday, July 15th at Alvarez Funeral Home, 240 Mount Prospect Avenue, Newark, New Jersey from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the funeral Tuesday, July 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, New Jersey. 

Celina was born on May 2, 1943 in Lares, Puerto Rico to Gloria and Jose Camacho.  She was a beautician and owned her own salon called “Celina’s Beauty Salon.” Celina was a longtime member of Bethel Assembly of God in Newark, where she made lifelong friends that became family.  She then transitioned to House of Mercy Mission in Newark where she was an active member and served wholeheartedly. She loved her dear Pastors Sam and Tilly and her family in Christ. For many years, Celina volunteered at UMDNJ, visiting the sick and sharing her faith in Jesus Christ.  

Celina is survived by her children, Emmanuel, daughter-in-law Marisol, Jose, Osvaldo, grandchildren Matthew and his wife Mariah, Gabriella, Rebekah, great-grandchildren Jayce and baby Riley (soon to be born), sisters Gloria “Titi” and Carmen, and nieces and nephews Jessica, Joanna, Rolando, Diana, Carmen, Jacob, Aaron and baby Caleb (soon to be born), dear friends Sharon, Sister Davis and more.
 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her home church House of Mercy Mission or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
