Myrna Rios Obituary

Myrna Villanueva Tellado Rios was born on January 31, 1942 in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Juan Villanueva and Ana Tellado. They had one other child together, her sister Mabel Morales.

Myrna spent most of her early life in Puerto Rico. She graduated high school, and shortly after, met Ramon Rios Flores. They were married on December 28, 1960. Their divine union was blessed with six children, a son and five daughters, who she loved and cared for dearly.

Myrna was a dedicated homemaker, active in the church and the local community most of her life. She was proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and culture. She enjoyed cooking traditional Spanish food and attending cultural events. She spent her later years involved in senior community programs, going on day trips, senior events and of course her favorite pass time - Bingo.

Myrna was outgoing, she loved shopping, reading, watching her favorite novellas, listening to music, and spending time with family on special occasions. Her friends and family would describe her as a firecracker. She never hesitated to speak her mind about anything.  She was a caring and devoted mother up to her final days.

Myrna was strong willed and determined. She battled and survived breast cancer. She fought through illnesses, accidents, and trauma till the very end. Treasured memories of her life will remain with her family and friends.

Myrna is survived by her daughters Anibeth Rios, Myrna Martinez, Lissette Polanco, Yesenia and Ivonne Rios. Her grandsons Charlie Newton Jr., Daniel Rios, Christopher Rios, Nelson Martinez Jr., Angelo Martinez, Shawn Polanco Jr., Tyler Polanco, Kay’lah Lewis, Jaydah Lewis, Nicholas Valentin and Nathaniel Rios. Her great-grandchildren Alyzza Newton, Raymond Rios, David Rios, Javon Morrow, and Royale Lewis. Her nieces Mabel Morales, Lourdes Morales, Diana Castro and Arelis Gesualdo.
