Consuelo Soto de Olio Obituary

Consuelo Soto De Olio, beloved mother and aunt went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2018 after a long struggle with diabetes and its many complications.
Her greatest joy in life was spreading the Gospel every chance she got. She would answer the phone, “Cristo viene pronto!”, and if you didn’t respond right away, she assumed you didn’t speak Spanish and would repeat in English, “Jesus is coming soon, are you ready?” Whether it was standing on the street preaching and handing out bible tracts or doing missionary work there she was, ready.
She was very involved in her church, served as President of the Women’s group both locally and regionally, and as Deaconess, taught Sunday school, studied at the Bible Institute, orchestrated trips and fundraisers, preached, mentored, and counseled among other things. She spent five years as a volunteer at Clara Maas Hospital in the cancer ward reading the Bible and singing hymns in her signature off-key voice to any patient who would listen. She provided comfort to many in their last hours. She always wanted to give the joy of the Lord she felt to others.
Consuelo is survived by her only daughter, Milagros de Olio; her nephew Angel Saborit, her nieces Debora Saborit and husband Francisco Javier Rodriguez, Rebeca Saborit and partner Jeffrey Orlikowski, and grandnieces Wendy Saborit and Isabella Rodriguez
Donations may be made in her memory to Open Arms Worship Center http://openarmsnewark.church/
