Inocencia Gonzalez Pagan

Inocencia Gonzalez Pagan a loving matriarch passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on September 25, 2023. Inocencia best known as Chen was born on September 27, 1931 in San German, Puerto Rico. Chen was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Maria Gonzalez and Anastasia Pagan. She was the cherished wife of Santos Martinez, and devoted mother of Santos, Lydia, and Reinaldo. She was the proud Grandmother to 8 grandchildren Diane, Damaris, Santos III, Linda, Orlando Jr., Reinaldo Jr., Emily, and Yolanda. 14 great-grand children Ashley aka “MI Ashley,” Ashley Mariah, Angel Luis, Edwin, Krystal, Qyara, Emmanuel, Josiah, Juliana, Brandon, Jayden, Mikayla, Angel Yadiel, Jorge, Reilin, E'Angelo, Santos IV, Julian, and two great-great grand children Joriel, and Analiyah. Chen married her “Novio" Santos on September 19, 1953 in Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. Bernard Church in New York. They lived in Newark for 17 years before moving to their homeland of Lajas Puerto Rico. Together they built their successful business “Colmado y Bara La Tuya" in Lajas. Chen enjoyed listening and dancing to all types of music, however her passion was sweeping the hills of her Barrio La Haya. In her 91 years Chen leaves a legacy of devotion in her home in Puerto Rico. Her memories will be celebrated by those she leaves behind. 

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday, September 29th from 6-9PM. She will be buried in Puerto Rico.
