Mrs. Judith Alfonso, 87 of Bloomfield, New Jersey passed away on February 2, 2021 at Mountainside Hospital. There will be a memorial service celebrated at Alvarez Funeral Home located at 240 Mount Prospect Avenue in Newark New Jersey 07104 on Friday February 19th at 9:00 AM-11 AM.
Mrs. Alfonso was born in Ponce Puerto Rico on August 17th 1934. She was the  eldest daughter of Carmen Torres de Perez and Carmelo Perez Colon and immigrated to New York City during the 1960's.  She began her nurse training  at the Tricoche Hospital in Ponce, Puerto Rico at the age of 16. Then she worked at Clinica Dr. Pilla and later on at the Oncological Clinic of Cancer of Ponce Puerto Rico.
At the age of 36, she came to New York where she worked at Prospect Hospital serving the community as a surgical tech. She moved to New Jersey in 1988 and began to work at Hospitals in Newark New Jersey. First she worked at Saint James Hospital  and finally in Saint Michael's Hospital from where she retired in the 1990's
Mrs. Alfonso was a devoted wife to Frank Alfonso. She was a  loving sister, a loyal friend ,and a caring and fun-loving person to know.
She is survived by Her loving daughter Janice Alfonso, grand-daughter Jessica Isabella Alfonso and sisters Lydia Estelle Ortiz, Elsie Perez and Marta Iris Perez
Beloved Judy You will be missed. 

Interment will take place at St. Raymond Cemetery.
